Well this is an extract of what I put on a forum I am a member of, can’t be assed to retype it:

(Sorry now, I need to rant)

Today was driving to a friends, after we’d been out, and was low on petrol, but the usual low where I get about 20 miles more…. and then donk, no more engine… tried to start it and whoops, look’s like I’d ran out.

Pushed the car off the road, and then proceeded to the nearest garage (bout 2 miles away, in the rain sad.gif) get back to the car, and fill her up… oh dear still not starting. Now I have had a problem before with my fuel pump, but checked that, and the original problem wasn’t there.

Poked around, checked all the fuses, all good.

So gave in and decided to ring the greenflag. Now I have had them out before and always been picked up by on-call, who are just a pickup truck service, so this whole fix 80% by the road is bo**ox. Anyways 1 hour and 10 minutes on hold, I thought this was a bit of a pi** take, so hang up and went to sales, instant pickup… I tried to explain, that I had been on hold this long, costing a bomb, and battery about to go. Also that the van is supposed to be with me within an hour, and I hadn’t even got through… nothing he could do and just transfered me to the same hold music (which is great, Rescue me).

Fuming, called back and spoke to a manager, who said the same and did the same. Another 30 minutes on hold I gave up.

Got a friend and a toe rope.

Turns out, after all that, I thought my ECU had died, as a bit of voltmetering, could see now power to the fuel pump, or the coil pack…

Took off the super chip and she started up fine, so will be phoning them up… also the car seems a lot faster too now (weird?).

So I think I am going to be sending a super sh**ty letter to greenflag, asking for my phone bill, premium, and the cost of alternative toeing send to me…. think I’ll get much luck?

have never let a complaint go passed yet without winning… I think the best was frankie and bennies, but thats another story

So as you may have previously read, I managed to blow the engine up on my Puma. I am borrowing my boss’s Mitsubish Delica (for those of you that don’t know what this is, it is a 2.8 Litre, Turbo Diesel, 8 Seater, Monster truck style. Anyways, picked up a new engine for the car, from a friend in the trade, and stuck it in the boot. Didn’t even notice any degregation in performance, I was impressed.

Then hooked up my car (with my pal Dom stering) to the Delica, and started to tow it all to the garage. Didn’t even notice the Puma was attached, the Delica is a pure monster, and apparently Dom had the hand break on for the first ten minutes.

Anyways half way there, some tw*t pulls out of a road, so I had to slam on the breaks to avoid hitting him, unfortunately, the Puma went straight in the back of the Delica. Did no damage at all to it, but smashed my light cluster on the Puma, which are about £150 secondhand to replace. What a nice expense huh.

The guy drove straight off to. How pleasant huh.

Hopefully when I get the car back, it’ll be good kitty for a while.

Oh dear, drove back from my work do in Hull last week (500 miles round trip), and noticed the engine had got really tappy, so got some tappit magic liquid stuff to see if it would fix it. It didn’t, and tonight the engine blew… ops..

So I was at work this Thursday, a firewall had died in our centre in Reading. So I had to drive a replacement up there, a mean feat when you was looking forward to a quite night at work.

Well got there pretty painlessly, the TomTom took me to the wrong place as usual. Changed the firewall and started to head home.

On the M4, and the petrol light comes on, so thought I’d best get some petrol. The TomTom has a function to take you to POI (point of interest) so I told it to take me to the nearest Petrol Garage. Off the M4 it took me, and down some country lane, and bit further, then said we had arrived. Well there was no guarage to be seen, so I asked someone walking down the road if there was a guarage near… she said that it was about 5 miles away :( at this point the car died :( .

Oh no I thought, so parked the car up, however whilst pushing it had a mind of it’s own, and catapulted back, smooching the drivers door too far open, and giving it a delightful dent. Great night huh.

The nice lady after a bit of um’ing and r’ing offered me a lift to the station, but said I would have to drive her car as she had drunk a couple of Gin and Tonic’s before heading out. After working out that it was a diesel with turbo lag, and that the breaks were super sensitive compared to mine, got to the Tesco and filled up.

Got back to my car, and said our goodbyes. I totally forgot my manors, and didn’t offer my details or anything for her trouble. Feeling slightly guilty now though.

So if the nice lady is reading, get in contact! :P

Just to say, even after the sh*t events, my faith in nice people is restored :P

Car Ouch
